Jeffrey Lewis-Williamsburg Will Oldham Horror

"Will Bonnie Prince, Palace or whatever 'What do you think about it?
Is it worth being an artist or an indie-rock star, or are you better off without it?'
Cause I mean maybe the world would be better if we were all just uncreative drones,
No dead child, hood dreams to haunt us, a decent job, a decent home,
And if we have some extra time we could do real things to promote peace,
Become scientists or history teachers or un-corrupt police at least,
'Come on Will, you gotta tell me!!' I grabbed and shook him by the arm,
The L train was leaning Bedford with 10,000 white 20 somethings crowed on
He opened his mouth to speak but it was lost in the rumbling of the wheels
We were thrown together in a corner and I yelled 'Tell me, man, for real!'
You're living comfortably, I assume, even if you're not quite a household name
You've reached a pretty high level of success & critical acclaim
The L train got to first avenue and a bunch of people piled out
I was starring into his sunglasses and I was really freakin' out i was like,
Steamboat Willie Bonnie Prince of all this shit, you're like the king of a certain genre
But even you must want to quit like if you hear a record by Bob Dylan or Neil Young or whatever
You must start thinkin' 'People like me, but i won't be that good ever'
And I'm sure the thing is probably Dylan himself too stayed up some nights
Wishing he was as good as Ginsberg or Camus
And he was like 'Dude, I'm such a faker, I'm just a clown who entertains
and these fools who pay for my crap, they just have pathetic punny brains
and Camus probably wished he was Milton too or whatever, you know what i'm sayin' ?!"

Big Black-Songs About Fucking

This is the classic album Songs About Fucking by Big Black. Steve Albini who is one of the greatest audio engineers to have ever recorded anyone is the brains behind Big Black. before he was recording amazing albums by bands such as Nirvana, The Pixies, and Low he was the Singer Songwriter and Guitarist of the band. Big Black were a Noise Rock band that were extremely underrated when they were together but now are highly regarded as one of the greatest noise rock bands of all time. This is their most popular and greatest album.

Syd Barrett-Magnesium Proverbs

In honor of Syd Barrett's birthday I have posted an album. I wanted to post one of his bootlegs called Magnesium Proverbs. I dont know much about this album but I know it has plenty of great Syd songs and some very rare hard to find tracks. defiantly something for a real fan. here is a review i found on line:

"It is a collection of lots of Syd stuff. Some of which is of good quality, some bad. There are a few common tracks which I believe are the standard released versions (Emily, Candy and a Currant Bun etc.) but some other rarer tracks of very good quality - Scream Thy Last Scream, Vegetable Man, Lucy Leave, King Bee. It also contains radio recordings of Reaction in G and Stoned Alone. These are not of such good quality. Also there is a few tracks of Syd supposedly during his only live solo performance (1st June 1970 I think) where he plays Baby Lemonade, Evervescing Elephant etc. but I'm not sure about these. The quality is poor but it is definately Syd, and it's definately live. The CD finnishes with a recording of the backwards message from the Wall."

C'mon Miracle - Mirah

C'mon Miracle is Mirah's fifth album and, in my opinion, the most notable.

It is truely an amazing album in many ways. It's very different from most of Mirah's albums. This may be because it was said Mirah was inspired to do this album when she visited South America. She said she was struck by their unique music and she wanted to improvise their music with music similar to hers. This album definitely reflects her very creative mind.

Here's a live performance of one of my favorite songs on the whole album, just to give you a good idea of what it's like:

So, if you're looking for a very good, unique, album, I definitely suggest C'mon Miracle.
